Learn to play the African kora online

Kora online lessons (via video call) focused on initiation to this magical African harp and also for medium-level students.

We will work on the traditional Manding repertoire songs (African music), not only by copying and learning to play them but also studying them musically to make the learning progression faster and most importantly: solid, with a well-interiorised understanding (that is the right path to owning the song). This will make it easy for you to improvise solos or modify the song melodically or rhythmically, following your creativity while playing on the go… and also will be easier for you to join other musicians that will be playing very often different variants/ versions of the same song.

With my method, you will be gathering the keys and tools to ‘learn to learn’ on your own, to listen to a song and find its structure/s, being able to understand and play them with less and/or more complexity depending on the skills that will be growing in you over time. I will give you also related information about the songs you will learn so you can know in depth what it is all about.

Also you will become linked to the kora community all over the world (literally) as I can help you to connect to anyone: if you want to learn from other teachers (highly recommended), or you want to find a local teacher, or you are moving to another place (city, country)… or you want to join a kora retreat (privately, or joining a group: very lovely event).
